Flexible, affordable and personalised learning support for schools of all sizes.
Every school is different. Every learner is different. And every school's learning support needs are different.
At Inclusive Learning Solutions Ltd (ILS), we believe schools should be able to access experienced specialist learning support without having to commit to expensive staffing arrangements or service packages that don't reflect their circumstances.
For many smaller schools, particularly rural schools, employing a dedicated Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO) or Learning Support Coordinator simply isn't financially practical.
But that doesn't mean their learners, teachers and school leaders need any less support.
That's where we come in.
Your School, Your Needs, Your Support
We understand that a school with 30 students will have very different needs from a school with 300 students.
Some schools may require regular assistance with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), learning support registers and referrals. Others may need guidance with complex learner needs, behaviour support, transitions or developing more effective learning support systems.
And some schools simply need an experienced specialist they can turn to when challenges arise.
Rather than expecting schools to fit into predetermined packages, we tailor our services to your school's individual needs, priorities and available budget.
Our aim is simple: to make specialist learning support accessible, practical and sustainable.
You Don't Need to Commit to Five Hours Every Week
One of the biggest challenges facing smaller schools is affordability.
We recognise that while a school may genuinely benefit from specialist learning support, its budget may not allow for a substantial weekly commitment.
That's why we offer flexible arrangements.
Your school might benefit from:
Two hours per fortnight to review learner needs, provide guidance and assist with priority documentation.
Three hours per fortnight for ongoing learning support coordination, teacher consultation and targeted planning.
Five hours per fortnight for more regular involvement with learner plans, referrals and staff support.
Three to five hours per week for schools requiring consistent learning support coordination and case management.
A larger weekly allocation for schools with more complex needs or substantial learning support responsibilities.
These are examples, not restrictions.
We can also explore arrangements involving scheduled monthly sessions, targeted projects, or additional support during particularly demanding periods.
We would much rather work with your school to find an affordable solution than have you miss out on support because a standard package doesn't fit your budget.
What Can We Help Your School With?
Our services are delivered remotely, allowing schools across New Zealand and internationally to access specialist support regardless of location.
Depending on your school's priorities, we can assist with:
Learning Support Coordination
Managing learning support registers, identifying priorities, coordinating referrals, tracking interventions and helping schools establish effective processes.
Individual Education Plans and Learner Support
Developing and reviewing IEPs, Individual Transition Plans and practical learning support strategies, including coordinating online meetings with teachers and families.
Teacher and Learning Assistant Guidance
Providing practical advice on classroom differentiation, neurodiversity, learning accommodations, accessible teaching practices and effective support strategies.
Behaviour, Pastoral and Wellbeing Guidance
Supporting schools to develop individualised behaviour plans, pastoral care processes, attendance and engagement strategies, and approaches that promote learner wellbeing.
Transitions and Referrals
Assisting with transitions between schools or learning environments, coordinating with external agencies and supporting the preparation of relevant learning support funding applications.
Learning Support Systems and Documentation
Helping schools review, establish or strengthen learning support procedures, registers, templates, referral pathways and documentation systems.
Professional Guidance and Mentoring
Providing regular consultation, mentoring and practical assistance to principals, teachers and staff responsible for learning support.
Every arrangement is individually agreed, ensuring the allocated time is directed towards the areas where your school needs it most.
Access Specialist Expertise Without Employing Another Staff Member
For many schools, employing an additional specialist staff member isn't a realistic option.
Recruitment, salaries, employment obligations, and the ongoing costs of staffing can place considerable pressure on already stretched school budgets.
Partnering with ILS offers an alternative.
Schools can access experienced learning support professionals for an agreed number of hours without the financial commitment of employing an additional permanent staff member.
Between us, we bring extensive experience across specialist teaching, inclusive education, SENCO coordination, learning support leadership, neurodiversity, behaviour support and working alongside schools and families.
Your school benefits from our combined expertise while paying only for the level of service it has agreed to receive.
Smaller Schools Can Work Together Too
For some very small schools, even a modest individual arrangement may be difficult to fund.
We are happy to explore shared support arrangements between schools.
For example, two or three rural schools might choose to share an agreed number of specialist hours, with support allocated according to their individual needs.
This could allow schools to access regular professional guidance while sharing the cost.
Each school's learners, staff, priorities and confidential information would continue to be managed appropriately and separately.
Flexible Pricing and Clear Expectations
At Inclusive Learning Solutions Ltd, we believe specialist learning support should be accessible to schools of all sizes, regardless of their available resources.
Our standard consultancy rate is $125 per consultant per hour, and we work with each school to develop an affordable support arrangement based on its individual needs, priorities and budget.
Schools can choose weekly, fortnightly or other agreed support arrangements, depending on the level of assistance required.
Examples of Flexible Support Arrangements
The following examples illustrate the cost of specialist support over a 10-week school term:
2 hours per fortnight – $1,250 per term
3 hours per fortnight – $1,875 per term
5 hours per fortnight – $3,125 per term
3 hours per week – $3,750 per term
5 hours per week – $6,250 per term
These are indicative prices, excluding any applicable GST, and are provided as examples only. Schools are not restricted to these arrangements. The frequency, hours and services provided can all be tailored to suit individual circumstances.
Additional Support When Needed
We recognise that learning support requirements can change throughout the school year.
If your school requires assistance beyond its agreed allocation, additional support can be arranged at $150 per consultant per additional hour, unless otherwise agreed in advance.
This provides flexibility during particularly demanding periods without requiring schools to commit to a larger ongoing arrangement.
Optional Digital Learning Support Tools
Schools also have the option to purchase licences for our EduSuite digital applications, including EduIEP, EduPlanner, EduUnity, EduPastoral and EduAssess.
These tools are designed to support learning support coordination, planning, documentation and school processes.
App licences are optional additional purchases and are not included in our consultancy rates.
Support That Works for Your School
Whether your school needs two hours of guidance every fortnight or more comprehensive weekly assistance, our focus remains the same: providing practical, personalised specialist support that meets your school's needs.
There is no minimum five-hour weekly commitment. We welcome conversations with schools of all sizes and will work with you to explore a sustainable arrangement that fits your circumstances.
Building Relationships, Not Just Providing a Service
We don't want to be an organisation that provides a generic resource and then disappears.
We want to get to know your school.
We want to understand the challenges your teachers face, the systems you already have in place, the learners you support and the outcomes you're working towards.
For some schools, that may involve a short meeting every fortnight. For others, it may mean regular weekly involvement in learning support coordination and planning.
What matters is that the relationship is meaningful, the support is practical and your school feels confident that experienced assistance is available when needed within the agreed service arrangement.
We also understand that school needs change throughout the year.
Your support arrangement can be reviewed and adjusted by agreement as priorities, learner needs and available resources change.
No School Is Too Small to Start the Conversation
Whether your school has 20 students or 1,000, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss how we might assist.
You don't need to know exactly how many hours you require or which services would be most beneficial.
That's something we can work through together.
We believe every school deserves access to quality specialist learning support, regardless of its size or location.
And sometimes, just a few hours of experienced guidance can make a meaningful difference.
